Convert HEIC and HEIF photos to JPG or PNG in your browser, many at a time. The results do not carry EXIF data such as location.

Convert iPhone HEIC photos to JPG or PNG

Convert HEIC photos that will not open on Windows or some websites, many at a time.

What is HEIC?

HEIC (HEIF) is the default photo format on iPhone and iPad. It is smaller than JPG at the same quality, but some Windows programs, websites and print shops cannot open it, so people often convert it to JPG.

JPG or PNG?

JPG is the right choice in most cases: it is small and opens everywhere. PNG is lossless and much larger, so pick it only when you want to avoid any quality loss while editing.

When one file holds several photos

If a single HEIC file contains more than one image, each one is saved separately with a number such as -1 and -2.

Colors and metadata

Converted files do not contain EXIF data such as shooting location or device. HDR and 10-bit photos with a wide color range may look slightly different once they become ordinary JPG or PNG.

Frequently asked questions

How long does conversion take?
A few seconds per photo depending on your device and the photo size. The first conversion takes a few seconds longer because the conversion engine has to load.
Can I just shoot in JPG from now on?
On iPhone, choose Settings > Camera > Formats > Most Compatible, and new photos are saved as JPG.
Some files fail to convert.
The file may be damaged or a HEIC variant this converter does not support. Failed files are listed with the reason and the others keep converting.
