How to Lay Out Several ID Photos on a 4×6 Print Sheet
2026-11-08
How to place the same ID photo several times on a 4×6 inch, 5×7 inch or A4 sheet and save it as one JPG, with spacing and printing tips.
When you need a print sheet
When you need several ID photos, one sheet with multiple copies is easier than printing them one by one. A single file also makes ordering at a photo shop simpler.
Steps
1. Add your photo to the ID photo maker.
2. Under "Size", choose the size you need, for example Passport / visa 35×45mm.
3. Adjust the crop area so the face sits well in the frame.
4. Under "Print sheet", choose 4×6 in, 5×7 in or A4.
5. Press "Save as print sheet" to download one JPG with as many copies as fit.
A checked example
In our own check, a 35×45mm photo fit eight times on a 4×6 inch sheet. The count depends on the sheet, so check the preview before saving.
Spacing and margins
Copies are placed with a 2mm gap between them and a 3mm margin at the edges, which makes them easy to cut apart. These values are set by the tool.
Things to watch when printing
- At a print shop or kiosk, choose the option that prints at actual size. Changing the scale changes the size.
- The saved JPG records its resolution (DPI), which helps it print at the right size.
- Face size and background rules differ by submitting office, so confirm them separately.
