Remove a Background Color · Make a Transparent PNG
Click a background color to make it transparent and save as PNG or WebP. Best for logos on white and plain-backdrop product shots; not an AI cut-out. Files never leave your browser.
Remove a background color: make a white background transparent
Click the background color to remove and it turns transparent, saved as PNG or WebP, which can hold transparency.
What it works for
It works for images whose background is close to a single color, such as a logo, signature or icon on white, or a product shot on a plain backdrop. If the background has shadows or a pattern, or the object contains colors close to the background, it may not come out clean. It is not an AI feature that finds the outline of a person or object for you.
What gets removed, and the settings
Connected background only removes the same color that is connected to the spot you clicked, so the same color inside an object, such as white inside a letter, stays. Every matching pixel removes similar colors across the whole image. Tolerance sets how close counts as the same color: raise it if background remains, lower it if the object starts to disappear. Edge softness leaves boundary colors partly transparent to reduce jagged edges.
Save format
Only PNG and WebP can hold transparency. JPG cannot, so this tool does not save JPG. The saved image keeps the original size, and the preview rule is applied at the original resolution.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my image uploaded?
- No. The image is processed only inside this browser and is not sent anywhere.
- Some background is left over.
- Raise the tolerance a little at a time. If the background has a gradient or a shadow it may not clear in one go, so click another spot and try once more.
