Photo EXIF Viewer

Read the camera model, shooting settings such as shutter speed, aperture and ISO, the date taken and the GPS location stored in a photo. The file never leaves your browser.

View a photo's EXIF data and see what it reveals

Read the camera model, shooting settings, date and GPS location stored inside a photo, grouped by topic.

What it can read

It reads the camera make and model, lens, shutter speed, aperture, ISO, focal length, exposure bias, flash, date taken, GPS latitude, longitude and altitude, artist and copyright, camera serial number and the orientation value. Only items that are actually in the photo are shown.

Supported files

JPG, PNG and WebP files can be read. HEIC photos cannot, so convert HEIC to JPG first and open the result. Note that conversion does not keep the original EXIF in the saved file.

Check before you share

Items that can identify a person, such as location, artist and camera serial number, are highlighted. If coordinates appear, remove them with the EXIF remover before you publish the photo. No map is drawn, because that would send the coordinates to an outside server; coordinates are shown as numbers only.

Frequently asked questions

Is my photo uploaded?
No. The file is read only inside this browser and is not sent anywhere.
Why does it say there is no EXIF data?
The data may have been removed when the photo went through a messaging app, was a screenshot, or was saved by an editing app. The camera may also have been set not to record it.
