Image Color Palette Extractor
Extract 3 to 12 dominant colors from a photo as HEX, RGB and HSL values, and click the image to pick the color of any point. The file never leaves your browser.
Extract the dominant colors of an image as HEX codes
Pull the most-used colors out of a photo as HEX, RGB and HSL values, and pick the color of any point.
Dominant colors
Add a photo and 3 to 12 of its most-used color families are listed, largest share first. Similar colors are grouped and shown as their average, so a result can differ a little from the exact color of one pixel. Change the count with the slider, and click a color to copy its HEX value.
Pick a color from a point
Click the image to see the color at that point as HEX, RGB and HSL and copy it. Use it when you need the exact color of one pixel. Transparent points are not picked.
Take it into code
The extracted colors can be copied together as CSS variables (--color-1 and so on inside :root). Analysis runs on a copy of the photo reduced to 200px on its long side, so it is fast, and the photo is never sent to a server.
Frequently asked questions
- Is my image uploaded?
- No. Color extraction happens only inside this browser and nothing is sent anywhere.
- Is the result the same every time?
- Yes. The same photo and the same number of colors always give the same result.
